| Good morning,
We are currently building our 2nd/retirement log home in the Smoky Mountain National Park region of TN and are trying to narrow down our choice of casement windows. The quote we've received on the vinyl-clad Andersen 400s with SmartSun LowE glass is about $4,400 less than the quote on aluminum-clad Marvin Ultimates with LowE glass. Performance-wise it appears that the 400's are slightly better than the Ultimates. In addition to the casements we have 2 sliding french doors, 1 hinged french door, and 1 sliding patio door in the quotes. We had also considered Eagles but even though they use the same glass as the regular LowE 400's the performance wasn't nearly as good. If anyone could provide some recommendations and reasons for such we would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! |
