Full Frame vs Insert

I stumbled across this forum after scheduling an in home visit with Pella and have since sought out estimates from a Marvin/Integrity contractor, softlite element contractor, and hopefully a sunrise contractor. My question is since my house is 26 years old aren't I going to be happier with a full frame replacement. I would assume a good deal of air is coming in around the windows not through them. Also I have has some rot replaced before when I had vinyl siding installed and I know there is more rot there. And then finally if full frame is what makes me happiest is the softlite element available as full frame or only insert. (sorry in advance for all the questions but you all seem knowledgeable)
