Lamination is definitely and option and not the standard.

It is likely that the older unit with the amber hue is tinted or coated with Low-e and is therefore cutting down on the suns radiant heat.

Hi Windows on Washington - do you know if going with a bronze skylight will cast a brown tint on the inside of my house? I dont want a brown color in my house as my house is white and pale gray (ie bright) and I dont want it looking muddy. At the same time I want to reduce heat coming in. Any advice on what color of skylight would be helpful (please note the skylight is already there and I am replacing them due to cracks). thank you!

Bronze tint option on the glass will cast a bronze color. Yes. I would go with the standard glass. Keep in mind they are specified with Low-e as a default these days the last I checked.

Will the gray tinted skylight be any better? or does that cast a color also on the inside of my house? thank you so much!
