I live over on kitchens but now we are trying to figure out window placement in our LR. Ceiling will be 9'. Would greatly appreciate any help with my question.

Two walls will have windows, the east and south walls. Thinking of 2-36" x 55" tall double hung on each wall. Where would you position these windows vertically? Do you split the difference between upper and lower or go 1/3-2/3 or what is the formula? I've searched and not found this information. In our current house the windows (8' ceilings) are 2' off the floor but that seems to leave too much wall above the window with 9' ceilings. We have nice views from all the windows.
