Windows as doors?

Hello everyone,

We have three rounded top french doors in our dining room which are original to the house, circa 1925. They barely function anymore, offer almost nothing in the way of security, and are extremely drafty. I'm all for salvaging old windows and doors but two carpenters have now told us even If they get them working smoothly they'll never be completely secure (they're not very thick, and there's no storm door). They're also only 6'5" at their tallest point, so they would certainly require a custom ($$$$) job.

We have some Marvin replacement windows in the house and we're quite satisfied with their look and quality. So the point and question of this post is this: Marvin makes a push out french rounded top casement window that looks exactly like our old doors, would there be something wrong with using windows as doors? We realize we couldn't open them from the outside, but that's not really an issue considering where they're located, they won't be for general entrance to the house. Is there something else to consider?

Thanks!
