 o
Low-maint. replacement windows with SDLs Northern Va.

I'm dazed and confused over the range of window choices and the dearth of dependable, objective reviews and recommendations. We live in Northern Virginia, plan to replace more than 20 windows, and are looking for

low maintenance (so I assume vinyl or clad), double-hung
a good combination of high quality (not necessarily the best) and reasonable cost
almond/beige/cream exterior (I've found aluminum-clad wood windows, but they came with only a white exterior)
white (or paintable) interior
simulated divided lights (i.e., not just inside the glass--these seem to be rare in vinyl windows)
cottage-style option (larger lower sash), though this is not a priority
value (i.e., nothing super-expensive, but price is not the primary consideration)
great installation and warranty

Suggestions?

I'd look at Sunrise, Okna and Softlite. SDL's are going to add $150-$200 to the cost per window depending on size.
