I'm putting roof windows into our loft bedroom as part of our renovation. They will provide an amazing view, so I don't want to lose that in summer, but since they will be south eastern facing and get a TON of light I need to do something to reduce solar gain, early AM light etc. I'm considering the exterior mesh Heatblock Awnings from Velux, but I'm worried they may be a problem with wind, pollen, leaves. We are on the third floor, so no overhanging trees or the like, but I was wondering if anyone has these in their home, and could provide feedback on how they hold up to weather, debris etc.
