Help!! Small awning window

We currenty have a jalousy window above our toilet in our bathroom. It is very drafty and with the cold temp in Atlanta, needs replaced ASAP. this is our first winter in our newly bought house.
I researched a lot and finally the choice was between Marvin and Jeldwen, I would go with Marvin, but since this is a small window and different than all of the others that we will eventually replace, we decided on jeldwen, priced alot cheaper. However, after months of waiting and finally getting ready to order, we have a dilemma.
The house is 1927 and I wanted to keep the frame because it is still very square and with plaster walls, and the location of the window, high up on the wll under the rood eve, think it would be best and save money to do so. The awning window dows not require the frame to function efficiently since it operates in its own frame.
I just found out that the smallest height jeldwen makes is for a rough opening of 18.75". Ours is a little less than 17.75" I can't figure out if Marvin goes that small but I think the answer is no. I did find Pella that makes smaller ones. I guess the question is, would it be better to keep the frame and go with Pella or should I stay with Jeld wen and redo the frame. I dont want to be dissatisfied later. We are just freezing

RE: Help!! Small awning window

I just ordered a window from a window company and they made it to my rough opening size. I would call around and tell em what you have and see what they say. You might want to have someone come and look at the opening. We called our window rough opening in and the girl goofed on ordering it and it came out a tad too small so we had to make some adjustments.
