| We are finishing our basement- insulating, framing, bigger windows and starting from scratch w/ block walls. It's winter in MN so we can't excavate for the low windows I want until spring. Can we frame in the outside walls and leave space to cut and place the windows come spring? Anyone done this? |

| If I understand you correctly, you are working on the interior side of a basement, but not disturbing the ground on the exterior. If this is accurate, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to excavate the exterior window areas this Spring and cut your block for window installations. Just be sure to research and select your window brand of choice now, so that you don't have any interior framing changes required this Spring. I'm not certain what you refer to in "frame in the outside walls". I assumed that you meant the perimeter walls on the interior of the basement. |
