Flashing new window with existing siding

Hi all.

I've installed windows in homes with board and batten siding and vinyl siding, but never with sheets of plywood.

Wondering how you go about flashing the window if I can't remove the siding? The siding actually runs up to the eaves and under roofing supports. I've always thought you need to flash the window at the sheething, but I've read articles where it is being done on the siding itself. Any ideas?

You need to get your flashing behind the siding. In the case of not being able to remove the siding, you can do a relief cut around the window opening and convert a given border cut out of the siding into a decorative detail while getting the flashing tucked under the siding.

This is highly depends upon architecture and design of place you have. Do Aware your architect about your designs. I think he/she can help you out in best way than any other person canÃ¯Â¿Â½t.
