You're lucky you dont live in a colder climate, alside sheffield and excalibur have high air leakage rates and poorly designed sills.

Thank you for your answer--I guess it was a poorly worded question--what I really would like to know are the older alside windows better than the newer ones--or--are they all pretty sad? Will they last me another 10 years--don't think I will last much longer than that--I am already bald--

Should an Alside window last 10 years...yes. Will it likely deliver consistent performance over that span...not as well as some more well engineered windows.

the older alside is the same quality( lack of) as the newer.. you seem be lucky since you have no issues and dont live in a cold climate.
the higher end vinyl windows do come with Rogain, so not only are they energy efficient but they also grow hair.

This thread is HILARIOUS , lol.... To answer the question, I'd agree with the above. I would say that product line has gotten slightly better over the years, however please do not mistake that for an endorsement.
