where can I get a nice pen w/ permanent ink?

My guest book is going to be a 'certificate' in which we'll have our monogram, vows and numerous lines for the guests to sign. I've attached a link to it below just for fun if anyone wants to see it. We're also getting all of our stationary from this site (table cards, menu etc..). Anyhow, as we plan to frame this certificate and want it to last we need to use permanent ink. Regular ink will fade very quickly and the company does not recommend it. They include 2 sharpie pens with the certificate, but thats not exactly the pretty kind of pen I had pictured. Anyone have a suggestion as to where I can get a permanent pen (fountain, india ink, fine marker etc..)that is attractive and comes with a holder? I can't find anything. Thanks for the help!! I'll take any suggestions at all.

Visit any retailer who sells scrapbooking supplies. Select a nice pen that is "acid free" and it will last forever on your document. Scrapbook stores have a large variety to choose from. Or the scrapbooking aisle in Walmart.
They also sell nice pens like you discribed in office supply stores, or Michael's Arts & Crafts.
We used a fine line sharpie for our signature mat.
It wasn't the nicest looking pen, but it served it's purpose.

I second Penny's suggestion. They won't be super pretty, but they will work. You can dress them up if you want. My cousin took floral tape (green and wrapped it around from the tip to the end and placed a fake flower at the end (opposite the writing side). They were really cute - she put them in little clay pots (tip side down, flower end up) with glass beads (the kind that are irridescent that florist use sometimes) to hold them upright. It was really quite cute. I recommend getting an acid free pen with a fine to medium point - fine will allow you to get more signatures. I would probably not use an extra thin point, because it will be too thin and difficult for some people to use.

I have learned the hard way that not all permanent markers are permanent outdoors . And as for vinyl blind markers they are great if you live in a protected spot . Out here in farm country between the freeze thaw cycles which heave the vinyl blind markers out of the ground and the wild winds that have blown them, only the man upstairs knows where, I gave up on those a long time ago . I now make my markers out of old pop cans and a brother electronic label maker ( built to withstand the out of doors) very clearly ledgeable even after 4 seasons now . I get three labels that are approx 2 x 3 when complete with lots of room for name , and any other pertinent info I need to know ......with 700 different named daylily cultivars it is imperative to know who is who. Morning all! Fran, I put in a bit more postage than what it was for me to mail my package to you. I don't think that I'll get back what I sent because we have a lot of veggie growers here, BUT if by chanace you dont have enough postage I'd be happy to send more if you need it to get my package back to me. We were just talking about this the other night. Ethyl alcohol will remove permanent marker from solid surfaces but it needs to be strong enough. The denatured kind (from the paint department) works fine and I suppose a strong grain spirit like Everclear would as well. 80 proof vodka didn't touch the marker. The alcohol got much of it out of an old rag but not all of it. Just be careful with furniture. Alcohol will dissolve shellac (but won't damage varnish or lacquer).

Stinky, I've mentioned it so many times on this forum that people are probably getting sick of me, lol. I can't stand decorating the rooms with 18' ceilings. My last house only had one of them, but here it's the foyer, living room and great room. Did you see my recent post about the different color moldings? That shows the decorated model of our house. While I think I've come up with some inexpensive ideas for wall art, it's a shame to me to have to buy something large to 'fit a space' rather than something smaller that I truly love. My dream home would have 10', at the most, 12' ceilings. I am getting quite anal about decorating my dining room. Bought an expensive French Heritage table and want to splurge on window treatments. This is because it's the only 'normal' size room on the first floor. I'm not counting the kitchen because as nice as it is, they crammed so many cabinets in it that there is no room for art. No wall space at all. Les had a great idea to take the "odd little corner cabinet" (her words, lol) down as it is off center and really serves no purpose. DH was amenable to that. It's one area that I compromised on because DH just loves the high ceilings, maybe because he's 6'4", but I couldn't do it again. We'll be staying here until we retire.
