Susie and others interested in posting photos- To post embedded pics on Garden Web Forums you need to first have them posted on a photo website, like Photobucket. You can get free accounts there and upload, resize, edit photos from you computer. Then you copy the "html" code and paste it right into the body of your message. Each of the photo websites has their own directions for doing that. Here at GardenWeb you can try it and click on your message preview. If YOU can see the photo, then we will when you click on Submit. If you cannot see the pic in your preview message, try again. No will see your goofs. It gets to be real easy once you do it a few times. Go for it. -Babka

This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. I've been searching for a vintage living room chair for months and just found this one right before Christmas (will be re-upholstered as soon as I can find a rug for the room and can reliably pick a fabric): The chair you posted is a nice chair, but it seems formal to me (as opposed to grandmother-ly). I found that most chairs of this vintage have a bit of wood on the arms, and it makes them seem uncomfortable or formal. Fully-upholstered is hard to find, and when you do find it, it's often quite wide for an old chair (this one is 37" I think). A while back, I did find a nice one on craigslist with a tight upholstered back and tight upright thin upholstered arms, but it was the wrong color and I passed on it because I was hoping to find something that I didn't have to reupholster. I'm still regretting that missed gem! So if you see one that has nice lines, I'd say snag it, regardless of the upholstery. Hope that helps in your search. I thought I could help out but I just went to get my magazine and it is The family Handyman. I didn't know there were two different handyman mags. March cover shows outdoor projects with a water feature. Feb cover shows a bathroom with off white tile on the bottom, green tile border and light green on top. So sorry. Hope someone else has the one you need. You might look for a website for the magazine. There is a chance they will have a picture of the cover. HTH

If I am following your train of thought correctly, you are considering slipcovers with button details so the view from the back will have interest. Sure. I think your idea is a good one & yes, to have all three pieces done the same way would be fine or, you could just do the pair of chairs that way. Do you have a pic of your furniture/room? If you don't have a lot of legginess going on with other pieces of furniture, you may want to leave either the chairs or sofa unskirted, especially if either of them has interesting detail on the wood like pretty carved feet, legs, or a handsome stretcher bar. Would love to see pics. I'm sure that I & many others here would love your style. Good luck.
