Need your clever ideas for theme...

I'm just racking my brain thinking of a favor for our DD's shower that has the theme of banking or money (they're both Advisors)...I can't find any little banks that are reasonable priced, and I know you all have great imaginations, so please help? Thanks ever so!!!

How about those chocolate coins (wrapped in foil to look like coins), wrapped in tulle with a bow....something like that??

Too weird, Stephmc...I just saw your "My Page", and clicked on it: we share the same birthday! September 25th! No wonder you were nice enough to email a solution! ;-D Still wish I could fine little piggy banks: then I could tag them with "Banking On Each Other"! hahaha!!

Italian cafe, themes for Holidays, geometrics, fruits, florals, specific animal themes (I bet if you could find a source for the towels it would be a big seller if you had towels for specific breeds of dogs... us dog lovers are crazy!), other specific animals? (I know people who love cows, penguins, frogs, etc), and.... lets' see... how about animal prints, asian, afrocentric, and any other ethnic towels you might find.

I like all the ideas -- I tend to prefer the table runner to a wall hanging too, but then you know her very well so you may have more idea of her tastes. I like the home sweet home idea with a house, YOU KNOW, you could even make something like a square "table topper" that could be for a table or wall. ANYHOW -- Piece-0-cake designs does some adorable applique patterns and one of their houses immediately comes to mind. If you look at my link below, it's in the book "Applique delights" (which you could probably get for less on Amazon's used books...) but it is in the style you see on the North Pole book right below that. SO DIAN -- DO WE GET YOUR BREAD RECIPE???!!!! Years ago when I moved into a new neighborhood a lady nearby brought us two loaves of braided bread and oh my word I thought I'd died and gone to heaven it was light and fluffy and buttery and SO VERY GOOD. She gave me the recipe but I could get the bread to rise. -- but now I make sourdough and I think I can handle it! I like the green too but DD has an aversion to it. I'm starting to picture white rustic urns with white or crisp light lavender linens. I hope she allows green grapes in the arrangement at least. To answer Lesmis, the wedding is in June and the venue is an estate that was turned into a golf/country club. A rental company has plum stemware we can rent or plum glass chargers. We might splurge on those. Thanks for the suggestions. If anyone has any other ideas about linens I'm all ears.

I did a bar-tack with needle and thread across the closed zipper, just below the pull. The hardest part was tying it off inside, because I didn't want the knot hanging outside. I'll wear them tomorrow to see if the bar-tack holds up. If not, crazy glue might be a good alternative. Thanks.

Oriental Trading has piggy banks. For some reason, I can't post the link to the variety of piggy banks, but from the page I've attached, in the search field, type in piggy bank and you'll see a few different ones. Maybe the Paint your Own one would be cute.....depending on how many you had. You could paint your little saying on it.

To find affordable piggy banks, check with an advertising specialties company. They have many items at reasonable prices. You could also have the banks imprinted with the bride and groom's names.
