| I did a quick search on www.google.com and found that money is usually given at the wedding, not the shower. The giving of envelopes containing money is called a "busta." (see http://www.nbizz.com/dinbrandt/page2.html and http://www.worldweddingtraditions.com/locations/west_europe_traditions /italian_traditions.html) No dollar amount is mentioned, so it may be similar to other weddings where you give an amount based on your budget and how well you know the couple. |

| For questions like this in my own life, I tend to ask the "aunt mafia" and then give about 3/4 of that (they all tend to round WAY up, or pick a dollar amount based on their more-established budget). |
