RECIPE: Looking for: Juicing recipes

Posted by ashleysf (My Page) on

Hi All, Delurking and posting here for the first time. Any tried and tested juicing recipes? I got rid of my clunky old juicer and got a better quality "masticating" juicer recently. I always do a carrot+apple+veggie/fruit combo. Would like to get more interesting recipes from you all. Thanks in advance.

RE: RECIPE: Looking for: Juicing recipes

I make this juice. It is so much better than store-bought. I'm sure it could be adapted to some sort of juicer.

Homemade Tomato Juice

Very ripe tomatoes
Pickling salt
White sugar
Lemon juice

Clean and wash very ripe tomatoes, cut in quarters. Put into large kettle and add enough water to come to just below the top of tomatoes. Bring to a boil and let boil about 1 minute. Put through a cone shaped sieve, using the accompanying pestle. Put juice back in kettle and bring to a boil. Immediately fill sterilized quart sealers with boiling juice. Add 1 teaspoon pickling salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to each jar. Seal jars and shake to dissolve sugar and salt.
Chill and enjoy.

Compost the tomato pulp.

RE: RECIPE: Looking for: Juicing recipes

I am just lurking around. This is my morning drink.
2 apples
1 beet
2 stalks celery
1 inch fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic
Cheyenne pepper to taste (I use about1/4 tsp. or more)
Place in juicer and drink up.

My husband love this juice. Recipe is from the Juice bible.
Enjoy!
