I've heard the terms "macrobiotic" and "microbiotic" diets
and wonder if anyone knows the difference between them.
Would also appreciate anything you may have experienced w/them. Thank you.

RE: RECIPE: Macro vs. Micro biotic

Here's a definition from Healthwell.com (check it out!):

**
Macrobiotic Diet
(Michio Kushi, Aveline Kushi)

70-80% Carbohydrates: whole grains, vegetables, seaweed and legumes
10-15% Protein: tofu and other soy products, whole grains, legumes and small amounts of seafood
10-15% Fat: fish, sesame oils and small amounts of plant and animal foods

Pluses
Teaches the importance of changing the diet according to the seasons and climate.
Can be therapeutic for combating degenerative diseases, especially for Asians.
Provides more beneficial fats and slightly more protein than strict vegan diets.

Minuses

Encourages salty, fermented condiments that are problematic for people with hypertension and yeast allergies.
Contains a lot of soy, a common food allergen.
Not tolerated well by people with grain sensitivities.
