Here's a list of some vegetarian websites -- this forum, unfortunately, doesn't see a lot of activity, so if you're looking for a particular recipe and don't get an answer on this forum, here are some other places to look.

RE: Gujarati dal and others

Hi everyone,

I just joined this forum and am posting the recipe of Dal as requested by somone on this forum. I also have more interesting recipes listed at http://funnfud.blogspot.com/search/label/Recipes

so be sure to visit this and leave comments and feedback!!

Tuver dal

Boil the toover dal in pressure cooker with high water content so it becomes easy to be mashed. Now take a frying pan or vessel, add 2 tbsp oil (or ghee), add some curry leaves, cumin seeds, jeera, methi seeds, and dried red chilly. when the seeds splutter, add the boiled and half-mashed dal and add water to reach your desired consistency. Now add salt, jaggery or sugar (add to taste), lemon juice, half a tomato chopped finely, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, dhana-jeeru powder(coriander-jeera powder) and mix well. Cook the dal uncovered for about 7-8 mins. Finally add some chopped coriander leaves and serve piping hot!!!
