Clearwater & Siesta Key - any ideas?

Hello,
I was late in finding this vacation forum. I am leaving tomorrow for eight days in Florida with my husband and kids (ages 3 and 6). We will be spending half the time on Siesta Key, and half in Clearwater. The beach will be our main activity but would love it if someone could give us some kid friendly restaurant recommendations and possibly some other activity recommendations.
