Western drive trip

In August we plan on taking a month and visiting some of the western states with our RV. We were thinking of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and Oregon. Any suggestions on what to see and do? We love the history of "The Old West" in particular so would be interested in anything having to do with that.

| Suggest you visit Smith Rocks, near Bend, Oregon. One of my favorite places, when I lived out west. Also, there is a small museum at Hood River, Oregon, that gives an idea of what the Columbia River looked like before the Bonneville hydroelectric dam was built. |
