I don't have Niagara Falls and my L. Ripples is still very young (as you can see!). However, the more upright stance of the latter is already evident in this example. The leaves don't cascade downwards as with Niagara Falls. I include a previous posting relating to the same subject matter that may be of some use. Mine was purchased in the fall of last year. It is still two divisions, and whilst the ripples on the leaves are perhaps more evident at the start of this year, it looks as if it's going to take some time to fill in fully. I had my wedding reception at the Red Coach Inn. We were married by the Falls on the American side. That was 2001 and while the park area next to the Falls on the American side was nice, at that time the American side was practically a ghost town. Very little to do - very few shops or restaurants open at that time.

There are also a ton of wineries in the Niagara Region. Sorry I can't name one but when we were out there, we just stopped here and there. I hope to make the trek out to the aquarium too but we are four hours away - but I'm doing it!

Thanks for the comments and compliments posted. Denis, It's become one of my favourite plants this season, commanding attention due to its size and habit. I can't claim to have reared it from a pup - I was fortunate enough to purchase it as a mature plant last season at a very reasonable price. Seeing Mctavish's plant peaked my interest in the first place. Hope yours travels well and arrives in good health along with its companions ... who are...? Faye, The rain we received turned out to be less than predicted and we're back to sunny and dry weather - though the temperatures have fallen within the seasonal norms. Everywhere looks super parched and watering restrictions (lawns) are in place. The record books will testify that such a dry and sunny spring and early summer is highly unusual for our neck of the woods. Whilst it is very pleasant for visitors travelling through our region, I also hope that we do get some significant rain in the not too distant future. Smoke from the forest fires has cleared in the past few days, but the threat is still very high. BC
