Winsor, Connecticut

My husband and I are planning a vacation to Connecticut. We want to look up some family history in Winsor (I am a Griswold, Phelps, Warham etc.) but don't really know what there is to see and do in the area. Anybody have a suggestion?

You can take a drive down to the coast and see Old Saybrook, Mystic Seaport is interesting, the Mohegan Sun and Foxwood casinos are always happening and maybe you can see a show. You can also go North the Massachusetts and see Old Sturbridge Village which is an historic museum and set up like an old New England Village. You can also drive to Essex and take a train ride. There is whale watching out of New London or Mystic and outlet shopping in Clinton. If you want to drive north to Stockbridge Massachusetts you can go to the Norman Rockwell Museum and eat at the Red Lion Inn.
