We are staying downtown for a convention in Minneapolis. Could you recommend any good restaurants? Swedish would be good, What would be the signature food for Minnesota.? Philadelphia has cheesesteak--Michigan has pasties, California has tacos, enchiladas, --what would be something unique? Besides lefsa and lutkefish?

RE: Unique Minneapolis food or restaurants?

I dont think there is a "Minnesota" food (except lutkefish and I doubt there are many places that serve it, yuck) , some people consider cassaroles uniquely MN???? ....I grew up here and spent most of my life here can't think of any. I think there is a Bennihanas downtown. They cook the food at the table and twirl the knifes, very entertaining. You are seated with other people at a large table. Make reservations!!! There are a few other Benihanas around town if that one is booked.
