anyone ever been on the voyager of the sea

I was watching the travel channel last night and they the voyager of the sea cruise ship on there. I could not believe it. I called a travel agent right away. I am planning on going in July. Has anyone here been on that ship? What made you say 'WOW'

I haven't been on the Voyager but I have been on the Splendour of the Seas. In fact, it was my first cruise and I was sold! So was my mother, who was 75 at the time, and she now has 10 cruises under her belt and looking for more. Royal Carribean does a wonderful job of making you feel like you are the most important person in the world. The food is excellent, the rooms comfortable, the staff will do anything you ask, and they want you to have fun. The theatre shows are great, top-notch entertainment. Bingo is expensive but as the jackpot builds, so does the crowd of people and the jackpot will be won by someone on that cruise. My cruise was 11 nights and the jackpot was over $13k. Do keep some things in mind:
1. Don't drink the soda in your cabin - it's $3.50 a can.
2. Any/all alcohol is NOT included and those $5 drinks add up faster than you think.
3. Coffee/tea/soda are included during meals or any food station you find open. If the waiter asks for your guestcard, you are paying for it.
4. Try new dishes on the menu. If you don't like it, they will bring you another meal but don't wait too long to tell the waiter because they have 1500 people to feed at each dinner and they are on a time limit.
5. Please show up for dinner at the appointed time. No one can be served until all people are at the table. If someone is not coming, tell the waiter.
6. Sign up for any shore excursions asap or it could sell out. Depending on where you are going, you MAY do a better deal with a taxi driver on your own, BUT be careful where you try it. DON'T do it in Jamaica!
7. Have a great time! The water is so blue you won't believe it. You will have to come home to relax and rest.

Yes, yes, yes! We went on Voyager of the Sea and it was brand new (actually I believe it had made 6 trips before our cruise, so I felt a little relieved that it had been "tested".) It is huge and beautiful. The shows were unbelievable (as they are on most cruiselines).

If you haven't already left, be sure you have good walking shoes, as you will walk your feet off! Let us know how your trip went when you get back. We can't go this fall as son and fiance are going on their honeymoon but all 4 of us are going next fall.

I choose to enjoy my plants when I can. I live in China now, so I have a good friend who is taking care of my collection for me. I have him send pictures during the growing season. I am trying to figure out which ones of my relatives are into c & s, so I can decide who to 'leave' my plants to. I start most of my plants from seed, including saguaros and pachycereus pringlei. So I have no hope of ever seeing them grow arms. I plan to be cremated and thrown into the Atlantic off Maine along with my dog's ashes. I can't validate, but I believe VT was one state that took up the issue of being buried on private property. The school I teach in was on a former cemetery. The bodies were dug up and moved somewhere else. China has a very large population and cemetery land is being reclaimed for second uses. The government is encourage people to consider 'green funerals' such as cremations and burial at sea. The whole area was once a rural village. Traditional Chinese want to be buried in their traditional hometowns, so many want to be buried here. Where do they bury them? Along the median strip of the boulevards under the electrical towers. Last Christmas, I saw one burial right out side the school gate. Coffin and all, along with one guy digging a hole and the other lighting off firecrackers (the ever preset firecrackers). I was told there was another funeral yesterday. You see mini cemeteries along the roadside. Walk along the road and you'll probably bump into a grave. Maybe I use part of my ashes as a growing medium for my pachys or pachypodium rosalatum!

I'm sorry you aren't going, but you did the right thing by heeding your instincts. There are other cruises in your future. I don't think I would want to be on a ship on the ocean for that long, but my father and brother love the transatlantic cruises (they've been on 3 or 4). My brother has two scheduled this year--in three weeks, he is going from FL to Barcelona; in the fall, he is flying to Europe and cruising back to FL. He keeps Royal Caribbean in business--he's on a ship right now, and has two more Caribbean cruises in coming months.

Kitchenkrazed09, The interior opening of the cabinet for the standard installation, which is what we did, needed to be 24"...So a standard 24" has to be backless. The flush/inset install requires 25"...Which can also be done with a standard cabinet that is backless, but away from the wall an inch. I seem to remember that they also recommend a wider cabinet for the inset look. We have a 30" frameless cabinet. Let me know if you have more questions, or if there are specific photos you'd like to see. Yes, I have read "A Year by the Sea" and loved it. I have all Joan's books but haven't read the last one yet. I haven't been to one of her weekend retreats but I have seen her in person. I subscribed to her email and they sent me an invitation to see her speak locally (a couple of years ago). I found her to be geniune, honest and really a nice person. I want to spead a "season" in the Cape alone sometime. I'm not sure if I could do a year, but my dream is to rent a cottage for a season after I retire. I have a list of places and the Cape on right up there toward the top! Susan

I stayed on Legend of the Seas & the ship was spectacular, the food awesome & the service the best! I'd highly recommend a Royal Carribean cruise.
