Need info on Finger Lakes, NY

Posted by msprettyky (My Page) on

I am taking a trip to New York in July for the Finger Lakes wine festival. My sisters and neices have invited themselves along. I need advice on family attractions and sites to see. The neices are teenagers. We have never been there before and one of my sisters will be taking the kids for a day while me and the other sis enjoy the wine fest. We will be staying in or near Watkins Glen, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

It's a little SW to be in my neck of the woods. Beautiful area. I would try and take some time to hike around Watkins Glen State Park. Try and take a tour of Corning Glass (Museum) too, if you have the time.

Just saw this post, so it may be a little too late.
however walking down the main road in canandaigua is nice. There are many shops there to go and look into.
Also the Sonnenburg mansion is nice. It is a nice place to walk around and relax. They have been fixing up their gardens there and it is getting better and better.
There isn't a huge nightlife there however there may be some concerts that your neices may enjoy at the fingerlakes performing arts center. It is really nice there.
Not sure if you can rent a boat on the lake however I am sure they would love that.
