| What is the best way to get around in Vegas. I heard taxis are expensive. We plan to rent a car for a couple of days to go to the Grand Canyon. We will be in Vegas for 6 days and we have never rented a car before so any advice would be helpful. Thanks Debbie |

| I could see renting a car to go to Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, etc, but while you're in the city it's not worth the expense to rent a car. (and parking is usually quite a walk from where you want to go) There are all sorts of affordable transportation in Vegas. Taxi, bus, trolly, and now many of the hotels have a free monorail or moving walkway between them. I live about 4.5 hours from Vegas (orange county cali) and so we drive there and almost always just leave the car in the hotel lot and use taxis, the monorails, or hoof it. The traffic is usually so bad that it is not fun to drive yourself. I hope you have a great time! |
