Best / Cheapest time to go to Italy

| My DH and I want to go to Italy in the fall of this year or spring of next. We can go anytime so we want to go when the rates are best. We'll be traveling by ourselves without a formal tour group.
Can someone tell me the off-peak times of the year to travel? TIA |

| Good question. We want to go to Italy next year, and it would be nice to know when it would be best weather-wise and cost-wise. I guess maybe checking out some of the web sites for organized tours, just to see if their prices vary during different times of the year, would be one way to find out. |
