Karen, I love the T&G and the antique soap box with twigs. Have you considered an Adirondack-style mirror above the vanity? It's rustic without being country cutesy, and would be so compatible. There are many styles and materials, i.e., birch bark, hickory, twigs, etc. Some incorporate colors that could be picked up in other parts of the house. Here's one example, but there are dozens if you do a google search for "rustic Adirondack mirrors".

I take full responsibility, but that lamp really is perfect. And it's much more fun to shop for you than for myself. I looked a little bit, and it was hard to find something that's the right size, a little vintage, not too fussy, etc. But I did find a few that *might* work. I wonder if you could put the lamp on a table between the two chairs, if there's not quite enough room at the end of the sofa? I like this one and it looks to have just a little bit of pink: A corner table might work- I liked how this one is a bit retro, but it might be too white- Like this one a lot--

What a gorgeous cabin! I love it! Might I suggest a “skirt” of lath or panels beneath the porch to provide a backdrop for future plantings and to prevent critters from nesting there? I would widen your steps to span the distance from one porch post to the other, centered on your door, with hand railings extending from those posts. The posts might also be fattened up. Have you thought of painting your window trim to match your roof? I would avoid planting things in front of your porch that will grow too tall. Your use of hostas is appropriate. Depending upon your zone, other similar perennials would be appropriate. Low shrubs, bulbs for the spring, daisies, etc. would be pretty, too. A lilac bush or two? Think classic country flowers and shrubs, nothing formal or fussy. The cabin is the star of the show and its rustic charm could be enhanced with appropriate furniture...Adirondack chairs, wooden benches, a swing, bent willow or hickory chairs, etc. Lucky you to have such a charming home!

Thanks! I did see an earlier post about the Ikea chairs. They are cool but not quite the style I am looking for. I ended up buying the blue set tonight. Hauled it home in the minivan and am sitting on it now. Yay. I will post some photos tomorrow although the patio is weedy and I don't have any accessories or accent pillows or anything yet. There is room on the patio if I want to add more furniture or a pair of Adirondacks later. For now this is good. I saw some inexpensive patio furniture covers and cushion storage bags (not boxes) on Amazon, too. The big cushion storage boxes get expensive. I got a free plastic bag with the cushions so tonight I will put them in the garage. It is a lovely evening to sit outside tonight! Here is the collage I was working on today. The blue is just a touch brighter than our house siding. The gray tile on the table goes with the old gray dining set and there is some brown in the frames and wicker so I can use brown too. I have some little iron tables that I can clean up and re-use for now. I am also working on a small front porch refresh with a new rug and some tidying up.
