Adirondack Cabin

My niece and her dear husband are planning to visit the Adirondacks this summer; They would like to be within one hour from Gloversville or Johnstown N.Y. They are artists and outdoor people and not loaded with a lot of money but they appreciate streams, woods, hiking and vistas. Anyone out there who can help? Cabin, camp, cottage.....On water???

I recommend Woods Lodge, in Schroon Lake, (but don't know where it is in relation to Johnston).
