my sister and i are going to st. marys ga the last of march for 2 weeks. does anyone have some sights to see. we also quilt and wonder re: shops,quilt shows. ralfsmom

Get tickets and take the ferry to Cumberland Island for a day. You may also want to go over to the east side of the Okefenokee Swamp at Folkston. I don't know about shopping, sorry.

I second nedraw's suggestion to go to Cumberland Island and Okefenokee Swamp. At some point you may want to make reservations for the ferry to Cumberland Island - they only take so many passengers per day.

I don't know how close St. Simon's Island is, but I'd think the shopping would be better there than St. Marys.

Savannah is a great place to visit, probably about 1 hr drive away.

Well a quick google search can give you a LONG list of things to do in South Georgia, other than that if you're going to fly see if the big travel sites have any good deals - bookit dot com is pretty new and has a lot of package deals. The link below is for Mexico but should give you an idea of the package deals it has.
