Need advice on Ft. Lauderdale/Bahamas trip

I received an offer from a resort company (with whom my mother has taken trips before, but never bought the timeshares). It's one of those deals where you get discounted lodging in exchange for hearing their 90 min presentation.
Here's the details: 4d/3n in Ft Lauderdale at the Westin or similar hotel, 6 hour cruise to the Bahamas, 2d/2n at the Port Lacaya Resort. No blackout dates, 18 months to use. $498/2 people.
Has anyone taken a package like this or have any advice for me? Would you do it, or is it not worth the hassle?
