 o
Louisiana or Mississippi

We would like to visit both of these states. Have never been to either one. Any ideas as to places to see that would be of interest to a couple of Northern folks? Would like to avoid New Orleans or tourist places and just experience the culture and ambience of those states. Any information or advice would be appreciated.

Melanie,

You don't say how you're getting there, but if you're driving, I'd highly recommend taking the Natchez Trace parkway. It's beautiful and there's a lot of historical stops along the way.

You would maybe enjoy a swamp tour in Louisiana. There are many to choose from.

Thanks Nedra, Thanks Lulie, appreciate the advise. We will be driving so will definitely do the Natchez Trace Parkway.
We are also into history so it sounds like a perfect place to visit. Also, the swamp tour, this is intriguing and certainly something we would never see around here. LOL
Thanks again
Mel
