A question for EWE?

Many years ago, or maybe not so many..there were these wooly sheep that people put on their lawns, they were the color of sheep, some were black, but htey were really well made and stood up to the weather. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Know wheere i could grt some? What were they called. Ay help ewe can give me would be appreciated. :)

Thanks for the response, but what I was looking for was more 3-D, and had a fluffy coat. I can't believe I can't find them anywhere.

We had one flower at the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoam City in September. Gorgeous plants! However, I'm an amorphophallus fanatic. I can't wait to plant my A. konjac this spring. The odor doesn't last but for a few hours, and the plant is, in its habitat, pollinated by flies or carrion beetles. If you've ever grown voodoo lily, they are pretty odiferous, as well. Cool, huh? Both The Elux and GE have 8 pass broilers. The GE is rated at 3800 Watts, and the Elux at 4000 Watts. I looked at some other ovens too, the new Bosch broiler is rated at 3800 watts, and Wolf doesn't specify (they count on buyers wearing blindfolds). Elux does seem to have one of the highest powered broilers of any oven that I found, and Consumer reports gave it's broiling abilities an "Excellent Rating". That's the good news on the Elux,~~~~~but~~~~~ there are a lotta negative reviews about the reliability of the Elux Induction range, and the lack of knowledge of service personnel in being able to solve problems. You can see these rewiews on several sites, AJMadison, Amazon, etc, so take the time to read those! Looking at the reviews on the GE, they are considerable higher than the Elux, and at least on Amazon only 1 bad review, "Smell from burning off", sooo unless Elux has fixed the problems with this range I would buy the GE, even thou I love my Elux appliances and all have been trouble free for about 8 years now, except the induction cooktop~~~~it has been trouble free, but I've only had it for about 5 years. Thanks, tarheel - no worries. I got my little rant in, for which I should be grateful to you. Helped me to sort out my questions. As they say in the reference librarian biz - no one ever asks their real question up-front. So ... this enzyme dirty-dish business still has me confused about two issues: (1) if you pre-rinse your dishes and use enzyme soap, won't it be eating away your dishes? (2) how will the enzymes "eat up the food in the trap after a day or two"? Does some residue remain that continues to eat up the food? Speaking of which ... (3) what's it mean to be an "enzyme" in this context anyway? My understanding of what an enzyme is, is that it's a protein that binds to some foreign material that in so doing facilitates the foreign material to be metabolized more quickly. It's part of a living system. What's it mean in this context? That is, how could an enzyme work on food residue in "1 or 2 days"? The enzyme's point is to speed up a chemical reaction. But the "reaction" that happens in a DW is mechanical - food gets ground up and washed down the drain, right? It might eventually get swept to a public works facility that puts microbes in the water to chew up your food waste - I could see an enzyme being helpful there. But in this context I'm just confused.... Anyway, thanks for coming back tarheel.

A good strategy is to buy a few individual pans that you use often, rather than a set -- especially larger sets -- which generally include stuff you don't want / won't use. You can add to your cookware gradually, as needed. Not clear why you are wanting to use small pans on your front hobs, rather than in back. Can you explain that? The smaller (2 qt.) pots are probably best used on either of the two rear hobs, which are smaller. [I have two ScanPan frying/saute pans (about 10"; I forget) for use on either front hob without problems; and a Favorit pan, and one by Marcus, in the back; they're all fine.] There are threads here about induction cookware. Briefly, people tend to like LeCreuset, Staub, Walmart's Tramontina (sp?), and Ikea's Favorit lines. I understand Costco had a set available recently (and maybe still) that works with induction as well. Those old threads will give additional suggestions.

I used to make these ! It was just a flat wooden shape of a sheep - painted black with phoney fleece pulled over the body and stuffed with polyfill. The ears were just a single layer of fleece that hung down.I used hot glue on some spots and staples on the other. Boy -- I haven't seen those in a long time. I know there are "online craft malls" .... "and online craft fairs" ... maybe you could check there. I don't think they really had an "official name" ... maybe lawn sheep ?

Thanks Toomuchglass, I think those might be what I'm looking for. I own 4 german shepherds and I thought they should have some sheep to look at. Outside their reach of course.

I used to have a lawn ornament business and we sold the lawn sheep altho I didn't make them. We had another crafter who made the BoPeep that went with it. Simple shape but she used oilcloth (like tablecloth) material on it. It lasted at least 10 years out in all Michigan weather til it fell apart. They'd last longer if I remembered to take them in.
