I have the both the baby Cricut and the Cricut Expression, which does more than the baby one. I use it mostly to make cards and I like it. If you go on the Cricut website to the message board you can get lots of ideas on how to use it. I also read on there that on BF Walmart may be having it for 199.00 instead of the original price of like 250.00 or so.

Thanks for the reply, sboxx. I've been doing some looking around on the internet and think the deal at Costco is the way I'm going to go. You mentioned a good price from Walmart on the Expression, but I have to think that's for the machine only. At Costco, I would also be getting 3 cartridges, which I'd have to purchase anyway because what good would the machine be without cartridges? Also, in looking around and reading reviews on several sites on many of the different Cricut products, I found out about a site that seems to have the best prices on cartridges. It's cricut-central.com.

Susan, we are looking at a 1900-ish farm house that is for sale to be moved. Someone bought it from a house mover about 3 years ago, only to find out that due to deed restrictions where he lives, he can't move it. So, it is still sitting on the mover's lot. The mover wants it off...it is taking up a lot of space and the longer it sits, the more it is deteriorating...having gone through a hurricane this year and is partially standing open. We have cash and have made an offer on it. He wants more, but I don't think anyone will pay his price. One guy wants it, but doesn't have the money and wanted to get a bank to finance it. I don't believe any bank will touch it. The moving has already been paid on it, and it is just 12 miles from where we live. So, if we get the house...I will use them in there. I have collected old doors and cupboards, windows, and all kinds of things for years. If we don't get the old house, we will build a new house and make it as much like an old one as possible, and use them in there.

Sharon, using my Cricut has been one thing I have been trying to perfect. A few things that I have learned: Cut at a slow speed with a deep blade. Pressure should be set at about 5 and your blade should be at 6. I tried cutting the fabric with just my stabilizer pressed the back of the fabric and ran into problems. Recently took a lecture on using the cricut for applique and learned that if you press a shet of freezer paper to the right side of the fabric and have your stablizer on the back of the fabric it works much better. Went home and tried it and it worked PERFECT!
