Moccasinlanding, I grow my OM in full sun. I have been thinking of starting to move OM and American Prayers to more afternoon shade. I do not grow in the ground here as there is too much root competition from trees so I am able to move my plants freely. I love to add other plants with the hosta. Coleus has been an inexpensive choice and you and I can keep them around in the south for many years. Begonias, heuchera and I am still waiting on some good impatients, also are out there. Great companion plants which have the same growing conditions. Your gardens have been coming together nicely. Watching yours grow too has been fun. I too use the Walmart pot. I stay away from clay as they dry out too fast. Have a great growing day, Paula

Yes, you certainly are right... the rush is on! This is my first experience with hosta and I hope I am not planting too late. It is still pretty warm here - starts out in the 50's in the morning and warms up to the 80's by mid day. I am officialy zone 6 but we are usually more like zone 7. Occasionally we get socked with a zone 6 winter (like last year). We don't start getting cold weather usually until Nov. Now that I've said that we will get zapped ha ha. Your cats sound adorable Betty, especially the "crier" lol. My helper is an indoor cat but loves to spend a little time with me outside. (my other cat is afraid of being outside believe it or not) And speaking of holes... here she is a few mintues after I took the picture of her inspecting the soil - that excavated 4 x 4 hole definitely needed some rolling to get the dimensions right! I use coverlets because once I went through menopause I was always too darn hot no matter what. I found a hydrangea quilt by Martha Stewart for Macy's. It is very springy looking IMHO, however I have the double/queen in our country home and It is about 5 inches too short. I have the same quilt at our other home and bought it in the king size for a queen bed because my other one was too short. The king size one is too long. You would think that instead of being chintzy good old MS would have insisted on a true queen size in addition to twin, full, and king. A coverlet meant for a double bed is just not quite long enough for a queen bed!

Love all of the curvy beds! I saw #154 at the factory in the patina copper premium finish and it was stunning. We ended up flipping a coin to choose our bed because we couldn't decide. It's the standard midnight finish, btw. Denali, your picture started me on the quest last year for a BBoV! I ended up with two brass beds (#105 and #110) from CL before also purchasing the iron bed from Pat. The #105 is headed back to the factory for an overhaul shortly... Juddgirl2, the low footboard doesn't seem to be an issue because the mattress is very close to it. I like it because it doesn't overpower the small guest room.
