Are you talking about the records themselves? I recently took an old, get this, Mickey Mouse disco album and made my 33 yr. old DD a bowl to put potpourri in from it! LOL

Stuck it in the oven on about 250 on an aluminum mixing bowl. Took it out while it was warm (use an oven mitt) and shaped it, then took it off the bowl while it was still warm.

I took a 45 rpm record and had it mounted and framed and it was given away as a doorprize at my high school class reunion. It was the #1 song on the day we graduated from high school. So, if you have a "special" record, that might be an idea.

If you're talking about the album covers/sleeves, a lot of people use them as wall art. As a matter of fact, I think it's Restoration Hardware that sells frames so they can be hung on the wall.

I didn't know if heating the records would work (or if they might create some harmful fumes...I have pets). But since you did it successfully perhaps I'll give it a shot! The ones I have were my parents', so they're from the 30s, 40s, etc. They're the 33s (not 45s). What a good idea you had for your class reunion!

I was trying to think if there was something I could do to capitalize on the nostalgia of those love songs. In the meantime, I'll try out the bowl idea!

Suzieque, how long have your parents been married? I was just thinking that if they have a milestone anniversary coming up the records would look cute hung as wall decorations at the reception, etc. (Maybe on a wall behind the refreshment table, etc.)

Didn't notice any fumes at all and I have a dachshund who's ALWAYS nosin' around in the kitchen when I'm in there! LOL

My parents were married 63 years; unfortunately, we lost my Dad about a year ago. I found these records in the basement when cleaning out "his area".

But ... perhaps my mother would like one of her favorites framed. Good thoughts!

Last year I bought my gd a tote made out of record jackets.
Expensive. Craftsman was from PA, and the totes were great (very nostalgic). He used grommets to hold the sides together, and of course the fronts and backs and gussets were different, but related in theme. Mickey Mouse, the Beatles, Patti Page, Frankie, etc. Fun.
