License Plates
Comments (10)Robert, I love your display idea of the lic. plates with the speed limit sign! I sure hope you get a lot more plates from the gang here. Luna, there is a site you can have a street sign made. I had one done years ago using my show dogs "kennelname'. Sangaree Road. I'll try to find the site for you, think they sold on eBay and probably still do. hugs, Karen...See MoreLicense plate — whaaat?
Comments (20)I think it's just a rotation thing and no one was thinking when the plate ended up at the place where they give out the plates. In Kansas, there were some standard plates that had a combination of letters/numbers that were offensive to Asian Americans. Some Asian American saw the Kansas car in California with that plate on it, was offended by it and contacted the state. It was a big hullabaloo but the people with that car got a new plate. I can't remember what it was that was offensive but no one in Kansas thought it was offensive. I do know our license departments here in our state do look at the request for all "vanity" plates to make sure that there is nothing offensive about them. Our local office has denied the use of some requests because of that. EXCEPT once a plate was requested and the person at our office sent it in, the state issued it and when it came back to the tag office, the head person saw it, realized what they were doing, called Topeka who was totally ignorant of another meaning for those letters and numbers which was why it was issued and got the plate stopped....See MoreHow to attach car license plates on a garage wall ?
Comments (9)Any wind could blow them unless secured somehow. Depending on whether or not you will accept holes in your walls, here are a couple thoughts: A) Insert plastic wall anchors then cup hooks for the license plates B) Staple gun a strip of velcro onto the wall. Affix an attachment piece onto the backside of each plate. Easy relocation and minimal wall repairs whenever you change your mind....See MoreOnly one license plate?
Comments (41)"Why do you have to memorize your tag number?" Several years ago I got one of my license plates stolen. I didn't realize it. I got a ticket in the mail that "my" car was parked in a handicapped parking spot. It listed the location, date, and time of the infraction. I was at work 45 miles away on that day. I contested it and had to prove where I was on that day and time. I was able to. By now I know my license plates because I had to write them down in the letter I wrote, and a couple of other documents I had to submit. I'm now waiting to hear back from the court, and a month has gone by. I come home from work one day, park my car, and then open the trunk to get something out. I glanced down and noticed the license plate and realized it wasn't my plate. Walked to the front of my car and my plate was still attached. I called 911 and an officer came to my home to retrieve the plate that wasn't mine and also took my plate. The plate that wasn't mine belonged to a car that had been stolen. My plate was put on the stolen car. So I'd been driving around for who knows how long with two different plates. The officer took both plates and I had to get new ones. And told me I was very lucky that no officer did a random plate check on the plate that was stolen. The officer said they call for back up when they spot a stolen car. They would have thought I was driving a stolen car if they ran that plate. That's why it's important to know your license plates. I check my front and back each time I get in my car and go someplace now. Like Save...See Moresweets98
