What to do with these sconces?

I found these in a thrift shop for $1.75 for the pair. I want to do something. The color is a little brassy, but not too bad. I am thinking of painting them, but am open to any ideas.

You could take off the candle holder and drip catcher and use the rope-like pieces to hold a simple curtain rod and curtain OR turn them sideways and use as curtain tiebacks. They would look nice holding beaded necklaces and maybe a vintage hat as well.

(I didn't make this hanger, but it's a good idea for an old doorknob and backplate.)

I'd probably paint them either black or white and antique them a bit whatever I decided.

i had some like that and i made teacup bird feeders out of them...and nailed to a tree....this is a pic (not mine but same idea that i did but with a sconce
put food in the plate and water for bathing or drinking in the cup:)
or for inside do the same but add a cute ivy plant in each cup and hang in a room
