Does anyone have this variety or even another pink coreopsis for trade? I have a variety of plants available for trade but don't have a printed list. If you have this please let me know what you are looking for in exchange. Thanks, Karyn

Mike, My mom has had dictamnus (gas plant) for years. She grew it in sunny locations. I just got 2 this year, one albus(white) and one purpurea(pink). Both of mine looked great from Lazy S's Farm and Nursery until I planted them in the heat of summer. They both dried up and lost their leaves. The nursery reassured me that dictamnus is hard to kill and keep watering and watch for new sprouts either this fall or next spring. Sure enough, both resprouted and have healthy green foliage now. I am also excited as this is my second attempt as well. It takes several years to grow to mature size. Well worth the wait. My mom's are beautiful and rabbits don't eat it. I don't think it needs full sun location as she had one next to her house but they do best with a lot of sun. I wouldn't plant them under a tree.

'Moonbeam' was not happy here in Sunset 23. It was ok the 1st year, malingered the 2nd, and was gone by the 3rd. 'Sweet Dreams' was a beautiful annual but did not come back the following year. The one I have had best luck with is 'Early Sunrise' which I have had clumps of for 9 years now. Also look at Shasta daisies and Gaillardias for daisy-like effects. Those have been very reliable here.

Last week a package from Plant Delights arrived, with two epimediums, three ferns, and two daylilies. They went in the ground the next day. Today I went to Mahoney's in Osterville to get some potting soil and a pot or two to repot some of the houseplants which are wandering into the house. I came home with another Grey Owl Juniper and three Pachysandra procumbens, all on sale. Not to mention a few more stakes for whatever. I'll plant them tomorrow before the next batch of rain comes through. And then there's the bulbs which will arrive in a month or so. I'm not finished either. Claire
