PolarPrincess - If you have a USB port, buy an external hard drive that connects to the USB port and copy ALL of your data (pictures and other personal files) to it. Then your data is safe and you can clean up the rest of the system. If not, burn them to CD for safety. THEN: 1 - Empty the Trash 2 - Search for files on the entire system, using this search pattern" *.bak (those are temporary files that can be deleted) 3 - Delete all of those files. 4 - Empty the trash again. 5 - Search for all *.tmp files and delete them 6 - Empty the trash again. 7 - Run the Windows XP "check disk" utility as described here: http://www.updatexp.com/windows-xp-chkdsk.html It may take quite a while ... 8 - Then try running the defragmentation program.

HI GUYS! Well, the real estate agent I had over yesterday was SO nice. She said she really liked the house and we got along really well. So, my choice are narrowed to her and another lady. (There are mostly lady real estate agents in my area. In fact, no men have listed a house in this area in AGES.) Last night, I got an email from someone who was asking if my house was going on the market soon and then, this morning, I got a call from an agent who wants to preview it for a client. So she's coming on Tuesday. I'm ready to SELL and MOVE now! Today, I had to clean, pack, and have a visit from "V"'s social worker. The visit went well and she wants him to move with us to the the rock, so it's looking very promising. Please light a candle and send a positive thought that he stay with us through our move. Love has nothing to do with this move wher ethe state is concerned. It's all about visitation for the mom (who has not been heard from since just before Easter! The S/W's supervisor has the final say. Now, I'm off to pick up my DD (age 12) from school. She's been at a remote Eco-Camp this week--no communication, electronics, and no make-up! I wonder how it went! No doubt, she'll be re-working our house to make it "greener" now! After the move, I'm switching to cloth diapers. After NHSuzanne's info about them and my own reading, I am convinced it's the way to go! QOD: Saturday will bring the community recycling effort, where we can take all of our hard-to-recycle stuff (like monitors, TVs, batteries, motor oil, paint, and stuff) to the church lot and drop them off! I'm making a pile of this stuff and loading it in my truck. Then it's off to the granite place to choose a "bundle" of granite for my new countertops. After that, choose a sink. Yesterday, I bought a new SS cooktop and SS dishwasher. Sunday, the new appliances will be delivered so they can be templated for the countertops on Tuesday. Oh! And prom is this weekend. No rest for the WICKED! lol. Soon, we'll have picture of our home to post and then, hopefully, a SOLD sign will be in our yard! (Yet another candle, please.) Sounds like EVERYONE is busy! Here's a kick for you, Jannie. Trouble is ... I need a kick, myself ... so I guess I'll either have to wait for someone else to favour me with one ... or do it myself - later, in sequence: can't have both feet off of the ground at once (unless one is really fast on the draw). I started going through some small boxes in which I've accumulated stuff, about 3.5 x 10 inches, in which I sort mail, keep charitable receipts (for income tax time), mail that needs an early reply, stuff from family, Christmas cards, etc. It wouldn't be fair to count one of them as a "box" - it'll have to be at least a half dozen (a dozen?)! I found a bonus ... last week as I was going through some investment and stock stuff, updating them, I found one where I hadn't recorded a split, giving me double the number of shares, at half the price, each ... so that value is double what I've been updating recently. And another where there'd been a takeover, and I'd removed the company that was swallowed up ... but hadn't added the one that ate it. Think those pieces of good fortune will be enough to motivate me to keep working at the clutter? It should, don't you think? As I'm far from home, at the library, and to be here for while, then get supper when I get home, there'll not be a lot of time left ... if I'm to get my beauty sleep (which has been neglected for the last couple of nights). Just took a pill that I couldn't take near when dealing with food or drink ... and had to be careful, when bending over the drinking fountain, not to lose the pill ... one needs to bend the knees ... or pull in the water through pursed lips, sort of like the reverse of whistling. Librarian says that she's worked here for years - been there, done that! Actually ... I dealt with some clutter in the garage, for I'd left one car door slightly ajar yesterday, after picking up a box, resulting in a flat battery: only a dim light when I opened the car door. So ... I hooked up the charger, and hung a spade, cultivator and rake from the gardening days, that I've tripped over a time or two since, up on a nail. Plus a snow shovel and pusher. But that was re-arranging: not disposing of anything. After five minutes of charging ... when I moved the charger to "Boost" ... the engine started (if reluctantly). When visibility was a bit low the other day I'd left the lights on when going to church and needed a boost to be operational. Wonder whether, had the sermon been a bit shorter, it might have started? More likely ... it was the talking over the coffee that did the job. ole joyful

Annie, you better watch out, I have your address :) this is exactly what i do with my sister when we get together. we sing all kinds of songs and just laugh. i also wish i had siblings close by but i don't know if we would break quarantine... my family is all in the same state but they are not getting together. so... i may be sitting and karaoke-ing by myself anyways... they drop things off to each other, and wave from the window! love the story about your grandson Margo. you have a lot of patience. you remind me of my motherinlaw. i call my dad for a few minutes but he doesn't talk to me for too long. he's usually busy watching the news or youtube. lol. he is also not visiting grandchildren! love the lilies jayeanne. they are so pretty. i have a ton of lily seeds but i don't plant them because of my cats but i do love how pretty they are. jeanne, i love your recycled project. the blinds as markers is a good idea. i like the baggies you made. those are cute. i love to sew and worked on some masks, a blanket and me and the little one made a "bed" for the kitties. she pushed the pedal while i guided the fabric. she was happy to tell her father that she made it all by her self with help from mom. also for my recycling project I decided to use my old airline bags as board game piece storage. there are so many little pieces with each game that its best to keep them in bags. i use zip locks but they still seem to open up, so the idea of using these zip up pouches from international flights are great for storage. here are some pics - i think we have a few more days in April, so I will try to post tomorrow. I know that Jeanne was planning on posting early, but she has a lot going on with the tree damage. However as soon as she posts, we can wrap April up! Emily, I will send you your BINGO prize soon!
