 o
painting on an oil base

I have two chairs that I had to strip in order to refurbish. I painted them with high-quality Stulb's Old Village oil paint. Now I intend to paint some decorative designs on them. Should I use artist's oil paint, or is it OK to use hobbyist acrylic--would the acrylic bond in a long-lasting way or will it peel off?

You can put oil base paint over acrylic but not acrylic over oil.I would use artist's oil for the decorative designs. You might want to seal when finished......Lillie

Thanks, I thought that might be the case, but wanted to check with the experts first! :)
