we were given a singer cast iron sewing base. i bought two leaves from a table at a garage sale. i already had the mirror. i primed and painted the base black. screwed the two leaves together. screwed them into the base. painted/crackled/top coat/distressed the leaves. screwed mirror into top table leave. then added 3 eye bolts to the bottom leave edge and added 3 prisms (they are kinda hard to see.)

I have a friend who takes these sewing machines (the four or six drawer kind) and takes them all apart, removes that peddle, glues the drawer parts together and uses a router to make a new smaller top. Then she either uses the iron frame and welds the legs together to make an end table or just uses the bottoms of the legs for a cute short little drawered table. I don't know if this makes any sense, but they turn out adorable.
