Hanging a Heavy T to T Project...

Posted by lydia1959 (My Page) on

..I've been working on my window. It will be hung above a set of stairs - so if it falls it will be falling about 8 feet (hopefully not on anyone). This is a good sized window about 2 1/2 feet by 4 feet with 6 panes of glass.

Should I use screw eyes and wire (then worry about covering any wire that shows) or use a couple of the hammer in sawtooth hangers?? Other ideas? TIA

Will post a photo once it is all completed and hung!

Hi Lydia, For a decorative painted window I did, my bro found a stud in the wall and use and eye & hook screw and it's been pretty secure.

I'd definitely use some sort of anchors. I found some great ones that actually hammer into the wall, then the eyes screw into them.

Hey, Lydia ... did you get it hung? I'd like to see what it looks like!

Hi Stoney! It's not done yet. Hopefully I'll get it finished and hung up in the next couple weeks.
