Recyle your sweat pants for small doggie sweaters

A friend in dog rescue taught me this. Recycle, or buy at the good will, sweatpants (some people use sweat shirt sleeves, but depends on the size of your dog). No sewing required! I like these better than sweaters, and they are warm and comfy!

This is my model, Sharkey, my mini doxie.

That's a real good idea, sure to keep poochie warm. Your dog is darling.

A black and tan dachshund owns me, so I have something in common with you. My first thought, though, was "if I don't quit gaining weight, MY sweat pants would make a sweater for a GREAT DANE!" ROFLMBO

Cute idea - thanks for sharing.

hi
thanks cool idea.
we did this also for our terrier but used my d.d,s pants legs.
just a few days I thought she (the dog) was cold and used an infants
onesy it fit perfect but now we are looking at all the babys clothes as doggie clothes also.
this was kinda funny until my 8yr old caught on and now trys to dress the dog from the infants drawer oops .
last week end she put socks a onesy and a baby blanket for a cape before I could un do it , poor dog.
I also thought of looking in t.s. for baby coats ?
they are always in good shape .
thanks for the pic Rick

Hi Rick,

I like your idea. Hmmm...now how would one convert, say, a wooly baby vest into a harness or doggie jacket? All of my dogs' bedding, come from the good will, in the baby department. I try to beat the mothers' to the rack. LOLL
