Thanks, I just read that. I will probably get my tractor and mix up a lot of compost to loosen the soil up in the area and then plant them in the ground with a wire guard to protect them from voles. Though the deer seem to be a bigger problem. They will come right up on the front porch to eat plants they like.

Burlap! I hadn't thought of that. I've been looking thru GW and see some people have used shopping bags to line their baskets. I think burlap might give me the natural look I prefer. Maybe I'll try both. Thanks for the compliments on the yard. Can't even see any of my gardens in that pic. lol. It is very green right now tho. Yesterday I spent 10 minutes doing a video tour of my gardens, then found out I had the digital camera set to photo. I had been talking to the non-working camera the whole time. Silly me. :P The little yellow and pink house with the pieces of picket fence leaning against it was my daughters playhouse when she was little. It's too small for an adult, but I keep my garden junk in it over winter. The bigger shed behind it is housing a swimming pool and garden tools. I fantasize about a cute little potting shed...should have gotten the bigger playhouse. ;)

I love it!!! I also use old buckets to plant in and old wash tubs. Great for planters!!!! I leave my spider plants in the tubs all winter they freeze but come back just fine in the spring. Although it doesn't get that cold here in the winter so thats probably why. Around 20 degrees.

So I cleaned the pole and the top with only Pam amd steelwool and it is gawjus...I had done the base that way and then messed it up. So what I want is the base to be back like it was...sigh...wait 50 years. And to match the top . I primed a minute ago. It is HOT here today so it is dry asap. Ok I am going to go try this on a tiny place and then post the results...or you can roll down a window and listen to me ^&^*(()_)/ . THANK YOU C
