lpalta, that stool is awesome! I love it in it's chippy state. The feet are intriquing. Are they claws? I'd love to see a close up... Personally, I'd leave it black, at least until after Halloween! It's perfect for a spooky vignette.

I have a close up of a foot in my Webshots Craft album. The tip of the foot screws on and each claw is holding a round glass ball. It looks as if the stool has been varnished and the varnish is peeling. I am guessing the wood is walnut.

Love the rooster & both butterflies & all the great plates & totem toppers! I thought that last thing might be a seat with a iron almost circular seat probably with a round lightly padded circle with 4 things that attach over the iron piece(saw something on that order once but maybe not strong enough or big enough to be that-kind of ice cream parlor look). The Tiger was posing for me. Kathleen, you're right, Replacements Limited is the place I'd go only if I was desperate for an important piece I couldn't find after a long search. They're definitely not cheap! Gail, too funny! Yes, and I love the hunt! DD: yes, that's what I'm hoping for. Perhaps more patterns will turn up then. Patty cakes: those are so pretty and what a good deal!! Betty & Mo, thanks! VMP: oh my gosh, they do look a lot like my bowls! I'm absolutely floored by the replacement price for yours!! That coffee pot is just exquisite. Neesie, Yes, check your TM. I did call the other two in Albuquerque and neither had any of the fish plates, in any size. I keep thinking about them and may go back and buy the four dinner plates they had tomorrow while I'm in town. I don't know what it is about these plates, but I do like them a lot. Perhaps it's that they remind me of my childhood growing up in Michigan on the lakes. I hope you find some. Luvs, thanks! I'm going to take the brown and white flowered plates back tomorrow. I may use the money to buy four of the fish dinner plates ;^P

Oh for Pete's sake, just realized I didn't post the link! Thanks for tracking this album down anyway, Luvs and Yacht. Yacht, I haven't bred a litter in 7 yrs and always hated selling puppies as I get too attached. It was easier to go buy a pup when I wanted another one to show. Since I've had animals all my Life, including 5 horses at once... and everything from them on down to white mice when I was in grade school, I guess I never really considered the 'work' involved. If I had an sense, I wouldn't have so many dogs and cats now. But I love them all so much. And they bring me joy, laughter, and help me deal with each day's pain. They get me up and moving, which is the most difficult part for Fibro sufferers. When my son was burned, they became my 'sanity keepers' in a world turned upside down. It's an old piano or organ stool...likely mahogany....and in the right place worth a good bit if it hasn't been painted and the turn around thingey works...

I'd leave it as is for now as sure looks great for Halloween! Library might have antique books in reference or check out section or try finding it on the Web. I have a wrought iron 1 that swivels but with a square top & very heavy, got at yard sale for $15. & I love it not anywhere as nice as yours, I love the balls in the feet. Jan

Great find! Don't know what to tell you to do with it either, but I love it. I always bring things home and have no clue what I'll do with them, but you know when you see someting like that that you have to have it!

I'm sure you'll get ideas here. Thanks for sharing!

I have one of those however it was missing the swivel seat part so I painted it white and did a mosiac on the top and have it in my bathroom

Went to a Fire Dept Auction this summer, they had an old church organ which did not sell, the stool went with it. I offered a price for the stool, then the bidding started. I got it for approx 25.00 It is just sitting here, thought I might put a fern on top. Looks old house.

I wouldn't do anything to it, it's perfect the way it is. I agree with the fern ... either that or use it as a small end table next to a chair or sofa?

I have a piano stool that looks exactly the same. My mother did a great job in refinishing it. It's an heirloom to me. The last time I checked mine was worth about $75.

I had one in my shop last yr. Mine was missing the seat. I painted it and set a plant on it and sold it right off...Love yours...

Oh I love her! Used to have one just like her. Now I have a male named Tom because he looks just like the cat on Tom & Jerry.
