latex or Chalk paint 4 stencil dining table
Comments (3)I have used Annie Sloan chalk paint and love it, and I've also used latex. I don't use poly as I don't care for the look. I have used BriWax that I had on hand in both light and dark brown for my projects and it's very protective. Are you stenciling a design directly on the (assuming) wood grain table top, or are you painting the table and then stenciling? On this recent project, I used Ben Moore Symphony Blue latex paint and little jars of acrylic metallic craft paint for the gold fleur de lis. It has the light and dark wax on it for an antique look, in keeping with the age of the piece. I might save the chalk paint for an item you use without feeling you need to poly it, as it has such a 'soft' look on its own that is very nice. See the difference in the blue paint color once the dark wax is used? Only the drawer fronts have been waxed in the pic, and all the rest of the blue is just the paint at that point....See MoreKeep wallpaper? or paint and Stencil?
Comments (42)If you like staging, why not get into it? I purchased my sofa from a woman who did it for a condo complex, and she was busy. She had her 2-guys-and-a-van that she used, and she purchased high quality stuff off Craigslist and then sold it (she didn't do storage). I believe you just have to introduce yourselves to realtors as a kind of internship (prob. super low pay at first, but that's a very positive perk for the realtor to offer his/her clients...Of course you would just have to use the clients stuff if you don't want to "own" anything. Many folks (not you clearly) need an objective third party when getting a house ready to sell (the queries on the subject here are proof of that)....See Morepaint or stencil?
Comments (13)I understand your wanting to repeat the rug since it's so pretty. I tried painting your stools different colors and came to the conclusion that it's perfect the way it is. The wood stools and plain bar wall allow the rug to command the attention it deserves. In case you don't believe me... I have two more renderings, but as usual, Houzz won't let me load them. So trust me on this one....See MorePaint / Stencil Idea - Need suggestions
Comments (9)When I was first married, the popular craft was either sponge painting the walls or feather painting the walls. I did the feather painting and it turned out great. You use a natural feather, feather duster and dip it lightly in the colors you like. Dab at the walls, overlap, use as many colors as you like. It was cheap, sorry inexpensive, and looked cute. It was very easy to paint over when I got tired of it. I did not try stenciling, but I did not have the patience! It is pretty. If you have a Hobby Lobby or Micheal's try there. ETA: Your colors would adapt well to feather painting and I would do all the walls....See Moregw:craftylady-2006
