I'm sorry for assuming. I went by your username, you never signed your real name. I would imagine it might be best to take advantage of local opportunities. Is there any way you can go on a car trip around town in FLorida to see if there are ANY instances of THE actual rose you are looking for still in town or in the surrounding counties at older homes and or abandoned homesites/former farms? That way you can ask the owners of that property if there is a house nearby if you can take cuttings yourself? Or if there is plain no one in sight, go up and take a cutting yourself? That's called 'rose rustling" by some, when they find old abandoned roses and either find permission to move them, take care of them or take cuttings. That way it's FREE, and completely up to you AND it gets you exactly the rose you want. I'm still unclear about what you actually want, most of the signs you are saying point either to pink pet/caldwell pink Old blush Dorthoy Perkins. But it seems I've either read incorrectly, someone is suggesting your rose does not repeat while I'm remembering the rose you are looking for that you've seen has been described as flowering year round. Can you please confirm if the bush blooms only once for a few weeks to a month or throughout the season in flushes? If you're worried about not finding it, I'm sure it's around if you say it's as common as it was. Even I see old bulbs still poking up in certain spots in woods as I drive by where there might have been a house or path around here, plants are terribly resilient! In fact I know where there is a giant stand of r.virginiana or carolina by the road where these days you'd usually see the invasive multiflora. Thanks bpgreen- the one site has links to others stating they are scams. owbist- This article supposedly says that it can be done- all I have read is that is cannot! Also, recently, Google announced that it will no longer allow any ads/sales of said product on its site. I think AutoWeek does not have Sunday's show online yet- this is one I really want him to see. It mentions that in order to have enough hydrogen carried by water, you would have to be towing 3 (maybe more) double tanker truckloads of water to get enough hydrogen for a vehicle. I agree with Greendesigns on the color--the darker they are the more maintenance they will require with dust mopping or swiffering. I am guessing with all you have going on, you don't have the time to be swiffering every square inch of flooring twice a day. Going with a medium stain or even clear poly is a more practical option. Handscraped floors are beautiful without a doubt, but as you're finding are very $$$. Going with a #1 common grade vs. a select grade or clear grade hardwoodis a less expensive alternative to handscraped that still gives you plenty of character. On-site finish vs. engineered finish is really a personal preference IMO. With engineered, once it's installed you're ready to go, but if your floors are ever damaged (think dishwasher floods kitchen), you run the risk of not being able to match it to the rest of the hardwoods in the house at a later date, and you are limited on how many times you can refinish the floor. Going with site finished gives you the advantage of unlimited refinishing, ability to match at a later date if need be, but it does require drying time. I think the engineered prefinished floor have come into favor with builders who want it done quick + current homeowners who are upgrading their existing flooring and don't want to deal with the sanding & drying time required with unfinished. When building new, as you are, the sanding & drying time really don't play in as much--the builder has a cleaning crew come in to take care of any sanding dust + most hardwood guys use the dustless sanders now anyway & typically the floor finishing is done last--so while you're working on closing on the house, the floors are being completed & drying).
