sorry for all that spam you're getting on your blog! why do people have to do that?

I've got a kind of close situation. Small kitchen and the fridge is next to the pantry, but my pantry is 42 inches and I put drawers on the bottom. We love it, but compared to our 18 inch pantry with no rollouts before the remodel, of course it's a huge improvement! The whole wall is a little over 11 feet (IIRC) and the area to the right has a 48 inch base cabinet. Roobear - We must have posted at the same time yesterday because I missed yours! Thanks, they're good ideas. I was wondering if I framed just the sheet if it would look funny since the sheet is thin? I think that was the site (or similar to the one I ran across the other day) If I were only going with 12" wide the best bet would be do the foam core board thing and glue that to the back and frame around the front. To my eye, with or without the chalkboard, the refrigerator pokes out there bad. I really can't stand visually how the refrigerator looks. (It's great for the intended purpose!) Turns out they do have different magnetic strips in 1/2", 1", and 1 1/2" widths. Prices range from $1.29 - $7.49 so I don't know how strong they would be? They might be the same magnetic strength (she said it didn't say) but the price difference being because of the sizes? I would think if I slap them the whole way around it should be good. ? I'd honestly rather just buy a chalkboard and attach something to the back then mess with making one because then I have to go buy the trim and I don't have a truck yadda ya. I think I'll try this option first. How much do chalkboards weigh? BUT - Joanie I just saw you said framed bulletin board. I have left over fabric from my stools/valance as well as the solid gold with red dot chair fabric (other side of the room) left over. Maybe I should just make one of those fabric memo boards? It's the family entry, often at the back or service/utility side of the house, where wet and muddy outdoor clothes and shoes can be put off and hung to dry. Actual mud is one reason why it's generally near the laundry. Old days, small houses, it was pegs on a back porch. Current trends, it's a small room with a bench to sit for boot removal, and often cubbies and/or lockers for family members to not only hang up their coats in, but to organize backpacks and other take as you leave items.
