It appears to be an Echeveria imbricata. It is very tall because it isn't getting enough sun; it will grow much better with full sun most of the day. Hard to do, if like myself, you live in a northern climate. Next remove all the flower spikes as they are mostly spent anyway. Next, whack the main stem about 2" below the bottom leaves. Allow it to callous for about a week to 10 days and replant in a cactus mix of your choice. Allow it to sit in the pot for a few days and only give it "sips" of water; no heavy drinks. The leaves will get soft. When they become more firm, it is a clue that you may water more frequently. If you remove all of the dead leaves from the remaining stem, give it more light, you may grow more pups. Howard

I hope someone else has some info on 'stress coat'. I have a well and don't have to worry about water chlorine-chloramine. A pH of 8.5 and even 9 is OK although you are getting on the high side. Any issues are most likely elsewhere. I have no experience with red algae. Are we talking about stuff that would begin to make you think of beet rather than pea soup or is it only stuck to solid surfaces. If it is suspended in the water, then your UV light should kill it. Again, no personal experience, but I hear that the UV lamps only work for a year or so. Perhaps you need a replacement lamp. That is still a lot of fish, but I suspect that for the time being (before they grow much bigger), that they should be OK. The major thing that jumps out at me is the lack of any plants IN the pond. The general rule is that around 2/3 of the pond should be covered with plants although that may not be necessary with a deep pond like yours. Obviously, water lily comes to mind. It is very nice to have such a large substitute container. My uneducated guess is that your pond will probably be or already now is fine. My guess is that the fish that died came from either fish transfer, or stress in pockets of chlorine loaded water that didn't get treated as much as the average water treatment.

The staged room is lovely and I think you should follow along. A 3-seat sofa and two armchairs work in almost any setting. Of course, the sofa should be 18" or less from the coffee table, so if you want to center the table with the firebox opening, the sofa will have to scoot closer. I think the TV built-in is well located, but you could change the color. I'd have a pro paint it once you've determined the colorway. In both arrangements the art is a bit too wide for the FP. Prefer to see it no wider than the firebox opening and hung 5" above the mantel without rising above the window frames. What's your plan for drapes? I think they will make the space if carefully chosen and hung. Is that hardwood or carpet? Difficult to tell from the pix. On the entry side of the room you could add a console table, lamp and art. I think you need more task and accent lighting. The ambient lighting coming from the ceiling seems fine, but lacks the intimacy that table, floor and art lamps add.
